Wills

Our Private Client department is led by partner, Jacqueline Dow.  Jacqueline was admitted as a solicitor in 1992, joined the firm in 2018 and was assumed as a partner in 2020.

A Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign.   A properly drawn up Will ensures that your assets and personal possessions are shared in accordance with your wishes following your death.   It ensures that your affairs are wound up by someone you trust.

We will meet you to discuss your requirements, advise you of your options, receive instructions and then prepare your Will.  We will then meet you to ensure that the Will is properly signed.  A copy of the completed Will will be sent to you for your records.

In many cases, we are able to charge a fixed fee for Wills.  In the ordinary circumstance, our fixed fees for Wills are:

A single Will - £150.00 plus VAT (£30.00);

Mirror imagine Wills for couples - £200.00 plus VAT (£40.00).

There will be a separate one-off charge of £10 plus VAT at 20% for individual an £12 plus VAT at 20% for couples in respect of our gathering (and updating, where necessary), documentation to comply with the Anti-Money Laundering regulations and administrative matters when opening your file.

These fees are for the preparation of a straightforward Will. If you require advice regarding complex family situations, Inheritance Tax planning or care home costs (for example), the fixed fee may be increased to reflect the work involved.  We will discuss the fee with you at our initial meeting.

There are no outlays associated with this process and we do not currently charge a storage fee to store deeds for clients.
