Our Property and Conveyancing department is led by partner, Robert Macduff-Duncan. Robert was admitted as a solicitor in 2004, joined the firm in 2018 and was assumed as a partner in 2021.
We regularly act for clients who wish to transfer their property to other members of their family, often to follow up on advice given by our Private Client department. Title may also require to be transferred following separation or divorce, or following the death of the owner, to effect the terms of a will.
This type of transaction will usually involve:
The fixed fee for this work may be £500 plus VAT of £100
Registration dues change on sliding scales dependent on the price of the property. However, in respect of the transfer of property worth £200,000, the outlays may include some or all of:
£400 for registration of Disposition
£80 for registration of the discharge of any old mortgage;
£80 for registration of any new mortgage security;
£192 for Plans Report
£20 for Advance Notice for the security; and
£145 for title and property searches.
In all honesty the quality of service provided by Robert Macduff-Duncan was outstanding. The selling of my home and the purchase of my new property was stress free. Robert was friendly, approachable and easy to deal with. I was kept fully informed at every stage and each step in the process was explained in a way that was easy to understand. I was recommended to Kippen Campbell and I would now do likewise.
